Phew!
While the UK and other places have had torrential rain, we have had an amazingly hot week. Even on Aegina, which is a few degrees cooler than the mainland, temperatures have reached 42° – 43°. This is unheard of for June and is the hottest weather for 110 years.
At least eight people died of the heat [...]

NEW – RYA Certificate Translations

The RYA is providing translations of their practical certificates in a number of languages. This should help acceptance of the qualifications.
German, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, and Croatian translations are already available on this page of the RYA website and others (including Greek) will be coming soon.

We’re Getting Ready for the Launch

We will be running RYA powerboat courses on Aegina from this summer. Our recent inspection went well and we have been recommended for recognition by the RYA.

In honour of our visiting instructor I’m going to support Emirates Team New Zealand in the Americas Cup.
Having beaten Luna Rossa 5-0 for the Louis Vuitton Cup they now have to challenge Switzerland, the current holders.
It should be exciting racing.

This is Timothy Gordon, Anna Gordon, and Miriam Gordon, who passed their RYA Competent Crew course with us on 13 April 2007.

This lovely lady is Harmony, a Beneteau 50, owned by John and Caroline Robinson. John successfully completed his RYA Day Skipper course and Caroline her RYA Competent Crew course with us in 2006.
Prior to his course, John sailed Harmony 780 miles from Eastbourne to Liverpool, enduring a Force 10 en route.
